Excavation and Grading

The grade of your yard can make the difference between runoff that flows away from your home and water pooling around your foundation and causing serious problems. The same goes for the grading around your pool.  Ideally, your lawn would have a slope of about 5%. That means that the surface of the ground 10 feet away from your house would be about 6 inches lower than the ground right next to your foundation. Slopes should be less than 25% to avoid erosion and runoff complications.

To maximize efficiency, SRG will cut dirt from the highest determined point and relocate it into the lowest area to  accomplish the desired grade. Distributing the soil in this manor reduces the need to bring in external soil and subsequently decreasing the cost of a project. 

The soil is leveled and packed to ensure proper stabilization and minimal runoff will occur. Once the proper grade is established, the soil can be hydroseeded to improve grass growth for the following growing season.
